Mayan Cocoa
Chocolate has been drunk as far back as 2600 years ago by the Mayans, more than a 1000 years earlier then previously believed. There’s a feeling in the shop that the people of Colorado may be of Mayan decent, as we can hardly keep up with the amount of cocoa that is purchased. With that in mind, we decided to create a spicy Mayan cocoa powder that will make it easy for you to enjoy a version of this traditional drink at home.

This blend contains chiles, Dutch process cocoa, powdered hazelnut, Ceylon cinnamon and vanilla powder.
We hand mix our Mayan cocoa from an assortment of chiles, Dutch process cocoa, powdered hazelnut, Ceylon cinnamon and vanilla powder. Use 1 heaping tbsp. per cup of heated milk for a spicy yet heavenly Mayan drink. Sweeten as needed. This powder is also nice for baked goods or sprinkling on buttered toast, fruit and waffles. We also carry a Mexican Cocoa and a assortment of cocoa powders.
Chocolate is a great high-energy food (which is why it accompanied Sir Edmund Hillary on his Mt. Everest climbing expedition, and is included in American soldiers' ration kits), and has therefore been sent along on all American and Soviet space flights.
