Ghost Pepper Salt

Use ghost pepper seasoning salt to add fiery flavor to potatoes, French fries, or chicken wings. Sprinkle on sliced watermelon or deviled eggs. Add to chili, or use in place of hot sauce. But keep caution and add sparingly, because this ghost salt is hot!

Using chocolate extract instead of powder gives this spicy seasoning salt a subtle aroma that makes fries sprinkled with its heat a full sensory experience. It burns, but I keep going back for more. I also like it sprinkled lightly over jammy eggs, or even freshly sliced cantaloupe. It may sound like an odd combo, maybe, but it really works.

Our Ghost Pepper Salt infuses all-natural seasoning salt infused via liquid binding with the spicy heat of a ghost pepper, or bhut jolokia.

This one was a bit tricky to create. Salt and heat is a great marriage, but we thought it needed something more to ground the flavors. From a technical standpoint, we needed a liquid binder to tie the salt to the chile. After trying a few different flavors, we decided on chocolate extract. Chocolate and chile are a great pairing but our Ghost Pepper Salt does not taste like chocolate. The chocolate aroma prepares the palate for a blast of chile heat. While this doesn't alleviate the heat, it does make the impact more pleasant.
