AmEx and Savory "Shop Small"

About a month ago, the creative team for American Express contacted us with a request to use our spices in one of their Shop Small promotional pieces. For us this was a no-brainer, our answer was obviously yes!  Getting your product in front of people is the goal for any business, and free advertising makes it all the better! The ideal pairing though is when you truly believe in the idea being promoted and have an opportunity to spread the word. And we do!

Savory Spice Shop now has over 25 locations nationwide. But even as a rapidly growing company, the way we’ve chosen to grow our business is pretty much the way we started our business. That is with a locally owned and operated model, very much how Janet and I started Savory back in 2004. We worked in our shops on a daily basis, building our business customer by customer. We offer our customers something different from big business in the personal relationships we, the owners of the business, cultivate and enjoy. And now whether you are in Westfield, NJ, Raleigh, NC, Austin, TX, Santa Rosa, CA, Bend, OR or any of our other stores, there is a good chance that the person packaging your Pumpkin Pie Spice is the owner of that shop. An owner and a person who is passionate about food, their business, and who truly appreciates you making the extra stop and shopping local when you have the opportunity!

Thanks again to American Express for including us in this promo, but even more for highlighting the importance of shopping small. We also want to extend a special thank you to our customers for shopping Savory. We truly appreciate each and every one of you.  Plain and simple, you make our business tick. Please enjoy a safe and happy holiday season. Warmly, Janet & Mike Johnston
