Adam’s Rib: Lakeport, TX / Longview, TX

BONUS STOP! There is a lot more to learn about East Texas barbecue and likely many more places I could visit, but unfortunately some weren't open and others were just too far off my course.

However, I did hear about a husband and wife who are both pitmasters, so I decided to give them a visit.
Adams Rib is a joint in Lakeport, TX (they have a second location in Longview like any smart husband wife team should...) that is putting out some solid flavors. Both Rickey and Laura are pretty much lifers when it comes to barbecue and it's a family affair there. I met two of their kids, Bo and Katherine, and they sure seemed into it too.

They just recently started serving beef ribs and I got one to try and I enjoyed it a lot...nice peppery crust. The other highlights for me were the pork ribs, banana pudding and Katherine's "oh so good," made from scratch fried pies (I chose blackberry)!

Rickey and Laura clearly make a great team, both in life and in business. Although Laura does believe she's the better pitmaster - I'll side with whoever cooked that tasty beef rib! Go check ‘em out! #‎chasingbbq
