Jack Stack Barbecue: Martin City, MO
with Matt Osier

Our second lunch today, stop number 87, was at the original Fiorellas Jack Stack Barbecue Martin City, MO, which is a little south of KC. This is more of a sit down barbecue restaurant than a joint, but one that puts out steady, solid 'cue. As we waited for our 'cue, we were entertained by our guest, the Baron of Barbecue Paul Kirk, and his stories of competitive barbecue. The man sure has experienced a lot.
We ordered up a three meat plate consisting of lamb ribs, spare ribs and burnt ends, but we couldn't go without a prime beef rib and added sides of cheesy corn and baked beans. The highlights for the table were the burnt ends, lamb ribs and baked beans.
This is a nice, more upscale spot to take someone to that may not be into BBQ dives...so you can still turn them onto very good barbecue. Next time I go, I need to try the smoked sausage cause it sure looked tasty. #chasingbbq
