A&R Bar-B-Que: Memphis, TN

A&R Bar-B-Que on Elvis Presley Drive in Memphis was our last stop of day 17. We got there in the evening and there weren't many people dining in the restaurant, but they were busy. The phone was ringing, the door was swinging and rib tips were flying out. This place is a barbecue joint. One that the locals support (and a few celebrities, too).

We met Randi, the owner's daughter, who was working a double, but her smile still came easy as we talked about their menu and our barbecue chase. One gal interjected her feelings about A&R having "the best rib tips in Memphis. Pretty much everything is good as long as you get that mild sauce!" With that type of endorsement my choice was easy (and rib tips are my jam!) so I ordered a platter of tips, green beans, fried okra, and for good measure, a barbecued bologna sandwich with slaw.

Chop, chop, chop...clank, clank, clank were the sounds coming from the kitchen, almost in a rhythm. That was the sound of rib tips being prepped.

I have to say the gal was right. The sauce was the star of the show here. My tips...finger tips that is, were licking good! #chasingbbq
