DO I NEED PRIOR EXPERIENCE IN THE RETAIL INDUSTRY?
A: No. We find that a passion for food, some management experience, being a team player and passionately believing in good customer service are more important. You will be taking advantage of Savory Spice Shop’s years of experience and can focus on the customer.
WHAT TRAINING WILL SAVORY FRANCHSING TEAM PROVIDE?
A: We will put you through comprehensive training at "Savory Spice Shop University". You will spend up to four weeks with us absorbing all of the chapters of our confidential Operations Manual. This will include both classroom and hands-on training, as you will roll up your sleeves and work side by side with us as we share detailed knowledge about the spices and guide you as you begin building the opening inventory for your shop. When you leave our Denver facilities, you will be ready to open your shop and become a Spice Merchant.
DOES MY FRANCHISE HAVE A PROTECTED TERRITORY?
A: Yes. If you open a franchise, no other franchised location will be permitted to open in your defined territory.
WHAT KIND OF STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES WILL I LEARN?
A: The Savory Franchising Team has developed very comprehensive operating procedures for you to follow. Our eight year's of operating stores allows us to pass onto you proven systems that work from day one and the support to make sure that these systems constantly improve.
HOW CAN I BE ASSURED OF QUALITY SPICES AND RELIABLE DISTRIBUTION CHANNELS?
A: Savory Franchising Team sources quality spices from nearly 100 vendors around the world, vendors who are carefully chosen for quality and reliability. Our distribution warehouse will further ensure reliable inventory on your retail floor.
WHAT INITIAL SERVICES DO I RECEIVE?
A: The team assists you in every step after the signing of the Franchise Agreement. Besides working closely with your designated Trainer through every step of our Pre-Opening checklist, we will manage the process of selecting your retail store location and have partnered with franchise professionals that will aid you in managing the licensing, permitting, design, and build-out of your store. Your success is our success!
WHAT TYPES OF FRANCHISE OPPORTUNITIES ARE AVAILABLE?
A: Initially, single unit franchises will be awarded to owner-operated franchisees.
WHAT PRODUCTS AM I ALLOWED TO SELL?
A: The majority of the items sold on the floor will be sourced from the Savory Franchising Team warehouse in Denver. Your retail inventory will include what is sold in our company owned stores: the same high-quality spices and merchandise, the same merchandising system, the same country store feel that harkens back to the turn of the century.
WHAT IS THE SIZE OF A SAVORY SPICE SHOP STORE?
A: Typically, the size of one of our stores is between 900 and 1,600 sq. feet depending on the demographics and location of the store.
HOW MUCH IS THE FRANCHISE FEE?
A: The franchise fee ranges between $27,500 and $35,000 depending upon the size of the shop. We do participate in the Vet*Fran program which offers a 25% discount for eligible veterans.
WHAT IS THE TERM OF THE FRANCHISE AGREEMENT?
A: The term of the franchise agreement is ten (10) years, with an additional two 10 year options available.
WHAT IS THE CONTINUING ROYALTY FEE?
A: We are offering a graduated royalty fee of four (4) percent in your first full year, five (5) percent in your second full year and six (6) percent thereafter.

WHAT IS THE INITIAL INVESTMENT REQUIRED TO OPEN A SAVORY SPICE SHOP?
A: The estimated initial investment required ranges from approximately $187,000 to $354,000. Minimum net worth is $400,000 and minimum liquid capital is $100,000.
