The Highlands Italian Alfredo Sauce

Ingredients: ½-2/3 cup The Highlands Italian Cheese Sprinkle 1½ cups heavy cream 1 egg yolk (optional) 2 tbsp. butter or margarine 1 lb. fettucine salt to taste

Directions: Over medium heat, melt the butter in a saucepan. Add the heavy cream and stir continually to incorporate butter. Add The Highlands Italian Cheese Sprinkle and stir continually until the cheese is completely melted. Blend in egg yolk (if desired), reduce heat to low and simmer for 4-6 minutes. Salt to taste. Serving Suggestions: Traditionally served over fettucine noodles, but feel free to use any pasta you would like. Try serving over chicken too.
