The Highlands Italian Alfredo Sauce

Ingredients:
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 2/3 cup Highlands Italian Cheese Sprinkle
- 1 x egg yolk (optional)
- salt to taste
Directions:
Over medium heat, melt the butter in a saucepan. Add the heavy cream and stir continually to incorporate butter. Add The Highlands Italian Cheese Sprinkle and stir continually until the cheese is completely melted. Blend in egg yolk (if desired), reduce heat to low and simmer for 4-6 minutes. Salt to taste.
Serving Suggestions:
Traditionally served over fettuccini.
