Recipe: Bacon Wrapped Spanish Style Dates
This is a fun recipe to explore using different Savory blends and different types of nuts and cheeses stuffed into the dates.
- 7 slices thin bacon, cut into thirds
- 2 oz. Manchego cheese
- 21 pitted dates
- 21 Marcona almonds
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. Bohemian Forest European Style Seasoning
This recipe is also works well with Southern Spain Pinchito Spice.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cut Manchego into 21 slivers small enough to fit inside dates. Stuff 1 almond and 1 sliver of cheese into each date. Wrap a bacon piece around each stuffed date and place on a parchment lined baking sheet. Bake for 10 to 15 min. until bacon is crisp. Meanwhile, whisk balsamic, sugar and Bohemian Forest in a small saucepan over medium heat until sugar is dissolved. Simmer until thickened, 5 to 10 min., stirring frequently so it doesn’t burn. Arrange bacon wrapped dates on a platter and drizzle with balsamic syrup.
