Anise Seeds, Ground

Anise seed is native to the Middle East and the eastern Mediterranean, and closely related to caraway, cumin, dill and fennel. It has a licorice-like sweet flavor and is widely used to flavor cakes, cookies, breads and fruit dishes.

Ground anise can be added to a face pack for smoother skin.

We grind it in small batches because as with all spices, it tends to lose flavor after being ground. Ground anise combines well with cinnamon and powdered bay leaves to flavor fish, pork or game.

You will receive the product in plastic, sealable bags that will be labeled with the product name, uses, and ingredients if applicable. The bags meet FDA requirements for food applications. They are 100% recyclable and can be put in with all other plastics recycled at home.

  • The small glass bottles hold 2 fluid ounces. The plastic lids have a flip top with a small pour spout.
  • Medium glass bottles hold 4 fluid ounces. The plastic lids have a split flip top. One side has a larger opening and the other side is a shaker.
  • Large glass bottles hold 12 fluid ounces. The plastic lids have a split flip top. On side has a larger opening and the other side is a shaker.
