Paprika, Hungarian Sweet
Sweet capsicum peppers, which are similar to red bell peppers, are dried, ground and sifted through a variety of screens to produce a bright red flavorful powder called paprika. It is not uncommon for Hungarian cooks to have several grades of paprika in the kitchen. We carry a Kulonleges paprika which bears the name Csemege, meaning exquisite delicacy, and is one of the highest grades available.

One man may yearn for fame, another for wealth, but everyone yearns for paprika goulash.
- Hungarian proverb
|
This paprika has a sweet taste with a barely perceptible heat that makes it perfect for dishes as Hungarian goulash and chicken paprikash. Paprika is also an important ingredient in barbecue rubs, chili powders and many other culinary dishes. If you are looking for something a little hotter, try our Hungarian Sweet & Spicy Paprika blend or our smoked Spanish hot paprika.

This paprika is created from a pepper from the Kalocsa region of Hungary.
