Thyme, French, Organic

Like many herbs, thyme is a member of the mint family and closely related to marjoram, oregano and basil. There are more than 100 varieties of thyme and the most commonly used are Mediterranean thyme and French thyme. We also carry lemon thyme.

Thyme was consumed as a cure for a hangover in the 18th century.

French thyme grows in many regions throughout France and is commonly used in every day cooking. It possesses a darker green color and a stronger aroma than Mediterranean thyme. The leaf itself is about the same size but seems to be a bit more flavorful and contains a tad of bitterness. Try using this organic French thyme in soups, stews, roasts or potatoes.

  • The small glass bottles hold 2 fluid ounces. The plastic lids have a flip top with a small pour spout.
  • Medium glass bottles hold 4 fluid ounces. The plastic lids have a split flip top. One side has a larger opening and the other side is a shaker.
  • Large glass bottles hold 12 fluid ounces. The plastic lids have a split flip top. On side has a larger opening and the other side is a shaker.
