There's Cash in Your Cupboard
It’s time to clean out your spice cupboards to rid yourself of tired and tasteless spices...and Savory Spice Shop is going to help. During June, for every competitor’s bottle of a spice you bring in, you'll get $1.00 off any new Savory Spice Shop bottle.
DENVER, Colorado – June 1, 2010 – Savory Spice Shop announced today a storewide initiative to help cooks across Colorado get rid of the tired and tasteless spices from their cupboards. Using the tagline, “Bring a Bottle, Buy a Bottle, Get a Buck,” Mike Johnston, founder of Savory Spice Shop, is asking customers to “bring in a full or almost empty bottle or container of a competitor’s spice. We will save you a buck for each one by crediting $1.00 towards the purchase of a fresh bottle of any Savory Spice Shop spice.” Johnston adds that they will be dumping the old spices and recycling the jars. The promotion will run at all Savory Spice Shops for the month of June.
“We’ve had customers who have actually moved houses three times, hauling with them the same spices they bought in the 1980’s” says Janet Johnston, Mike’s wife and co-founder of Savory Spice Shop. “Spices actually do have a shelf life for flavor. Once ground, the volatile oils start to evaporate, taking with them their aroma and taste. We think this promotion is a fun way of educating folks about spices while saving a little money in these current economic times.”
And help you save money they can. A bottle of Savory Spice Shop’s fresh ground spice or original spice blend averages $4.05 as compared to a similar sized bottle at the three major grocery store chains in Denver which come in at a whopping $7.40. Tag on the $1.00 savings during the month long promotion and you will save over 50% per bottle for what Mike Johnston believes is a superior product. “We grind our spices in small amounts weekly to ensure freshness,” says Mike Johnston. “We then take those spices and hand-blend them into over 140 original seasonings that we sell here at Savory.”
All Savory Spice Shops will be participating so stop into your favorite location and get some cash from your cupboard!
