Apple Pie Recipe
1 (9-inch) pie
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. Baking Spice
- 8 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and sliced
- 2 (9-inch) pie crust dough pieces, homemade or store-bought
Add all Savory items to cart
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Melt butter in a saucepan. Stir in flour to form a paste. Add water, white sugar, brown sugar, and Baking Spice; bring to a boil then reduce heat and let simmer.
Meanwhile, place one of the pie dough pieces in the bottom and up the sides of a pie pan. Fill with apples to make a mound. Using the second pie dough piece, cover apples with a lattice top, or use a whole dough piece with several wide slits cut into it. You want holes in the top crust to be big enough to pour the butter-sugar liquid into the apple filling. Pinch the top and bottom crusts together to seal.
Gently pour butter-sugar liquid into the apple filling and over the crust; pour slowly so that it does not run off. Bake for 15 min. Reduce temperature to 350 degrees and continue baking for 35 to 45 min. until apples are soft. #HolidayPies
Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
