4 Musts for a Foodie Couple's Wedding
with Ariana Cuadra
Savory Spice Team

Food brings people together- maybe it even brought you and your partner together. You know, like those tapas in Spain? You both love food and want to celebrate food, and each other, on your big day. My fiance Mike and I are getting married in September, and we’re highlighting our shared love for cooking in so many fun ways that I want to share with you. These are 4 must haves for every foodie wedding.
Spice Favors
Giving the gift of spices and seasonings lets you spread the joy of home cooking year-round. What better way for your guests to remember you? Savory has so many spices, you’re bound to find something meaningful to you both. Mike and I are giving a nod to our New York roots with Brooklyn Everything Bagel Blend, but for you maybe it’s County Clare Seasoning Salt to celebrate your Irish heritage!
Food Walls and Stations
Yes, it’s a trend… but it’s a super cool trend that we’re totally behind! Epic cheese board table, anyone? Mashed potato bar? S’mores bar by a cozy outdoor bonfire? Personally, I’ll be doing a super cute donut wall with a hot mulled cider bar for desserts. Add a few classic country pies and we’re sure our guests will be very happy. Plus, who doesn’t want another opportunity to make food puns like “Hole-y Matrimony.” Get it? Donuts have holes.
Foodie Tablescape
Who said you can’t use cherry tomatoes, basil and lemons for centerpieces? Well, no one really. Point is, the tablescape plays a huge role in the whole vibe of your wedding. It’s the little magical world your guests inhabit for a while in between hootin’ and hollerin’ on the dancefloor. It’s where toasts and memories are made. Why not do all you can to make it reflective of your passions? There is so much room to be creative in adding touches of food and cooking to your tables. Sprigs of fresh herbs like sage, rosemary, and thyme are classic and elegant, and have the added bonus of smelling divine. Simply add them to your table arrangement in small decorative water vases or tuck into napkins for a fresh touch.
A Custom Ice Cream Flavor
Say whaaaat?! This has to be the coolest idea we’ve heard, thanks to our Test Kitchen chef, Michael. So, if you and your partner were an ice cream flavor, what would you be? Sounds like a Buzzfeed quiz… but think of all the cute names you could come up with! Nutty for You, Mint to Be, Chocolate Chip Chip Hooray, I Love You Berry Much- we’re here all day if you need more ideas.
