10 Easy Weeknight Meals

As summer ends and kids go back to school, dinner planning can sometimes fall through the cracks. No need to worry—we’ve got your back with these amazingly delicious and easy family-friendly recipes. (Pictured above: Easiest Ever Slow Cooker “Roast” Chicken)

1. Grilled Cheese Soldiers

Use a mix of cream cheese, Colby Jack, and your choice of cheesy seasoning to make the perfect grilled cheese finger food. Serve alongside tomato soup or with marinara sauce for dipping.

Creamy Stovetop Mac & Cheese

2. Creamy Stovetop Mac & Cheese

This easy recipe is ready in about as much time as it takes to cook the pasta. Stir in some Black Dip Barbecue Sauce to add the flavors of Worcestershire and allspice, which pair nicely with the creaminess of the cheese sauce.

3. Chicken Fajita & White Bean Chili

As summer fades into autumn, we start craving cold-weather foods. This recipe uses just a few ingredients that you probably already have on hand and doesn’t require hours to simmer like other chili recipes—in fact, you can have it on the table in around 30 minutes.

4. Barbecue Pot Roast

Few things are better than recipes that you can set and forget. All you need for this is a chuck roast, salt and pepper, and a bottle of our small batch Midwestern Sweet Barbecue Sauce.

5. Easiest Ever Slow Cooker “Roast” Chicken

Similar to the pot roast, you can set a seasoned whole chicken in a slow cooker on low in the morning, and by evening have this tender chicken ready for dinner.

6. BBQ Chicken Quesadillas

Pick up a rotisserie chicken from the store (or use leftover cooked chicken) to make these tasty, crowd-pleasing quesadillas in about 10 minutes.

BBQ Meatloaf Sliders

7. Jane’s Grill Packets

These are ultimately customizable and ideal for using up any kind of veggies you have on hand. Let each person put together their own packet then let the packets cook for about 15 minutes on the grill.

8. Family Style Fajitas

This is one quick meal the whole family will enjoy. The steak only needs to be seared and simmered before you can pile it onto tortillas with sautéed pepper and onions.

9. Easy Baked Chicken Fingers

Impress your family with a fast homemade version of this favorite. Serve with the dipping sauce listed in the recipe or spice up your favorite condiment for added flavor.

10. BBQ Meatloaf Sliders

These flavorful sliders are amped up with sweet barbecue sauce and paired with all the classic burger toppings. The best part? They take less than 20 minutes to prepare.

Would love to see more truly vegetarian recipes, perhaps using grains, beans etc. They can be easy and kid-friendly too and these recipes lend themselves to have wonderful spices included.
