Thin Fried Onion Rings Recipe

INGREDIENTS
- 2 Tbsp. one of the following seasonings:
- Red Cloud Peak Seasoning
- Cape Hatteras Smoky Seafood Rub
- Black River Creole
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 egg
- 1 large sweet onion
- Vegetable oil for deep frying
- Salt to taste
Add all Savory items to cart
DIRECTIONS
Whisk together choice of seasoning with flour and baking powder in a wide, shallow bowl. Wisk water and egg together until blended then stir into dry ingredients until combined. Slice onion into very thin rounds. Heat oil to about 350 degrees. Add a handful of onion slices at a time to batter, tossing to coat. Fry each batch until golden brown, about 1 to 2 min. Transfer fried onion rings to a paper towel-lined platter and sprinkle with salt to taste while still hot. Continue with remaining onions. Serve warm or at room temperature.
SERVING SUGGESTIONS
Great as a topping for burgers or pulled pork sandwiches.
