Mother’s Day is fast approaching and while we may not be able to give our moms everything they deserve, we can treat them to some delicious food on their day. Great meals (and maybe some flowers!) will guarantee an extra-special holiday for the whole family.

Our Test Kitchen Assistant Ashlee Redger, a culinary student at Johnson & Wales, is here with menu ideas filled with recipes that are ideal for celebrating the moms in your life.
For a classic made easy, try out French Toast Muffins. You can prepare these the night before and pop them in the oven in the morning. Top with freshly whipped cream, sliced strawberries, and/or maple syrup for the perfect breakfast-in-bed plate.
If mom doesn’t have much of a sweet tooth, Bacon & Mushroom Quiche can be an impressive dish to whip up on Mother’s Day morning. Serve with mimosas for a balanced breakfast.
Speaking of brunch-time drinks, Bloody Mary Scones are super unique and sure to please! Just be sure you have something to wash them down… If another Bloody Mary is too much, make our Blackberry Sangria with Honey Powder and Lavender.
For a quick and easy lunch, Chicken Avocado Tortilla Soup can be made in about half an hour. Another option that would be great for lunch is Blackened Chicken, served over fresh salad greens and drizzled with your favorite homemade creamy dressing, like our Buttermilk Ranch Dressing. Yum!
Is there anything better than an Italian dinner? Start with dip-able appetizers like Black Garlic Meatballs or Butternut Squash Stuffed Arancini, which has two secret ingredients: Coconut Milk Powder and Vanilla Bean Paste. For the main course, serve Chicken Gran Paradiso with Capitol Hill Green Beans and Warm Pesto Bread.
Wrap up your day with the most important “meal” of the day: dessert! If your mom is a chocolate lover, the Perfect Chocolate Cake is, well… perfect! It has both Black Onyx AND Dutch Cocoa Powder to make it rich. For small chocolaty bites, serve the Espresso & Coconut Truffles. Like fruity desserts better? Baked Apples are an easy classic that features our warm Baking Spice blend. Although it may be a little more involved, the vanilla-flavored Bourbon & Grilled Banana Pudding is oh-so-worth the extra effort.
We all know: moms deserve the best. Now go make Mother’s Day great… and don't forget to do the dishes!
