Adding new products to our lineup is always exciting, but it's especially fun when those products are the result of a partnership. This year, we had the chance to work with Women's Bean Project, a nationally-recognized social enterprise that has created transitional employment for chronically unemployed women through the manufacturing of gourmet food products.

“Savory Spice is so happy to collaborate with Women's Bean Project," said Janet Johnston, co-founder of Savory Spice, "they believe in the strength and resilience of women and the work they do is nothing less than inspiring. That is something I wanted to help support.”

One of the products Women's Bean Project produces is gourmet popcorn. We worked with the organziation to develop two new popcorn flavors:

Starting now through the Christmas holiday, customers can visit the Women’s Bean Project retail store in Denver Colorado, any Savory Spice location, or shop online at or to purchase these limited-edition popcorn flavors. Hint: They make great stocking stuffers or teacher's gifts!

Janet also had the chance to sit down with Trudy, one of the women who works at the Women's Bean Project, to talk about this collaboration, what it's like being a woman in business, and how Trudy's experience with Women's Bean Project has impacted her life. Check out the video to learn more!

I first encountered savory spice through my nephew who is a chef. I asked him what he wanted for his birthday and he said anything from Savory Spice. I am now on their email list and the most recent email from them introduced me to the Woman's Bean project. The merchandizing of the popcorn caught my eye so it drove me to their website where I promptly bought a gift basket for a new client. I've been looking for gift baskets but they all seemed ordinary and commercial. This basket is so unique, beautifully put together and the bonus is that it's for a terrific cause. Congrats to both companies. I am a loyal customer now. .

We really enjoyed your variety. And I really appreciate the fact that I don't have to buy large quantities of any single spice or specialty blends. Thanks.
