Ground Dutch Caraway Seeds
Caraway has a sharp, stimulating aroma. Its flavor is nutty and bittersweet with a hint of citrus and anise. Caraway is sometimes confused with fennel or cumin. Native to Asia and parts of Europe, we get our seeds from Holland.
Ground caraway is essential in the Moroccan spice mixture Harissa. In Germany and Austria they use it to flavor pumpernickel bread and pork roasts. Caraway compliments coriander, garlic, parsley and thyme. We think it’s a great addition to coleslaw or potato salad. <\p>
