A Pinch of Seasoning Salt

#REF!

As you probably know, our world of spices and seasonings is nearly endless! While it’s true that we have extensive lines of salt-free blends as well as some truly amazing salts, one of the simplest ways to introduce flavor into your food is through seasoning salts.

"Of all smells, bread; of all tastes, salt." - George Herbert, English poet (1593-1633)

Examples of Seasoning Salt

Salt & Pepper are essentials in almost any kitchen. Seasoning salt is an easy way to take your salt to the next level! Our seasoning salts are created with sea salt, which is natural, with no anti-caking agents or additives. Blending this product with spices, we are able to create perfect all-purpose seasoning salts. With Black Garlic Salt, we have created a unique spin on traditional Garlic Salt. Then there is fiery Ghost Pepper Salt or unique Makrut Lime Sea Salt to add a dynamic flavor to any dish!

Black Label Reserve Smoked Salt & Pepper
Our Whiskey Barrel Smoked Black Pepper has long been a customer favorite. We decided to one-up ourselves and create a bold, smoky combination of salt and pepper. It imparts a rich, yet not overwhelming smokiness and is incredibly simple to use. Since it's "just" salt & pepper, you can use it on almost anything.

Use as a rub for roasting or grilling chicken, steak, or root vegetables. Rim drinks or sprinkle on bruschetta, cheese boards, or slices of heirloom tomato.

Black Garlic Salt
We found a way to take the umami flavor of garlic salt to the next level. This one-of-a-kind seasoning salt has a sea salt base accented with fermented black garlic. Through fermentation, garlic is transformed into a complex, umami-packed ingredient with fig-like sweetness and caramelized notes. We combine the unique flavor with tangy Korean gochugaru chile flakes to create this one-of-a-kind seasoning salt. Try anywhere you would use garlic salt (A.K.A. everywhere).

Season meats and veggies before cooking. Sprinkle onto French fries, popcorn, eggs, and more.

Tangy Makrut Lime Sea Salt
Lime and salt are a classic pairing (margaritas anyone?) But even though it's a simple idea, this was a tricky salt to create. Lime juice powder had an excessive tartness without the refreshing bright fruitiness of fresh lime. We found that the best way to add true, natural lime flavor is with makrut lime leaves. It has an expected tartness, without being sour or bitter, and is very refreshing.

Add to salsas, guacamole, even hummus to boost the flavors of your dish. And, of course, you can absolutely use this salt to rim the edge of your cocktail glasses.

Ghost Pepper Salt
For some people, flavor equates to something with a kick. Rather than subtle, umami notes, these chile-heads want a seasoning that will punch them in the mouth with a burst of intensity. Chocolate extract is the secret ingredient that grounds the heat of the chile and gives it a bit of complexity. This hot seasoning salt is chocolatey, bittersweet, and earthy.

Season chicken wings, chili, fajitas, and French fries. You can use sparingly (or not!) instead of hot sauce or other condiments.

When Should I Use Seasoned Salt?

The best thing about seasoning salts is how easy they are to use. Try a seasoning salt in place of your normal salt for a little extra flavor. Here are a few of our favorite recipes that use these unique seasoning salts.

Black Label Burger
Black Label Reserve Smoked Salt & Pepper adds smoky flavor to these burger patties without requiring a smoker or charcoal grill. Layer your burger with all your favorite toppings.

Black Garlic Flatbread with Whipped Ricotta
This flavorful flatbread is great for sharing as a snack or side - or serve with salad as the main dish. Creamy ricotta, sweet caramelized shallots, and tangy Black Garlic Salt make this simple flatbread a superb side (pictured at the top of this article).

Mango Urfa Salsa
Add this fresh, fruity salsa to your next burrito, burger, or taco, or eat it on its own with tortilla chips. Makrut Lime Sea Salt gives it a little bit of a bright, zesty twist.

Ghost Pepper Salted Triple Chocolate Cookies
Chocolate pairs wonderfully with a little heat and these rich cookies don't disappoint! For a nut-free version, use 1 cup additional chocolate chips instead of walnuts.
