Directions

Step 1: Make vanilla dough

In a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream together egg, butter, Peppermint Vanilla Bean Sugar, Natural Peppermint Extract, and Pure Madagascar Vanilla Extract. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, powdered sugar, and salt. Mix dry ingredients into wet until just combined. Color with several drops of green coloring. Wrap dough in plastic wrap and chill for 20 min., until firm.

Step 2: Make chocolate dough

In a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream together egg, butter, Chocolate Peppermint Sugar, Natural Peppermint Extract, and Pure Madagascar Vanilla Extract. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, powdered sugar, and salt. Mix dry ingredients into wet until just combined.

Step 3: Form cookies

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside. On a lightly floured surface, roll out 1 Tbsp. of each dough into 6-inch long ropes. Twist ropes together, pinching at each end to secure, and curve one side down towards the middle like a candy cane. Transfer to prepared baking sheet.

Step 4: Bake

Bake cookies for 10 to 12 min., until bottoms are beginning to turn golden brown and tops are set but not browned. Remove from oven and sprinkle with Chocolate Peppermint Sugar while still warm.
