Flavor of Southwestern Chili con Carne

This mix makes a medium-low heat, crowd-pleasing, hearty chili! Like most chilis, this is just as good the next day, so it’s a great ‘make ahead’ meal.

Southwestern Chili con Carne Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

1 package Southwestern Chili con Carne Mix
1 1/2 cups beef broth
2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
1 lb. flank steak
2 (15 oz.) cans petite diced tomatoes
2 limes
1 (15 oz.) can black beans, drained

DIRECTIONS:

Stir Southwestern Chili con Carne Mix into beef broth and set aside. Heat oil in a wide pot over high heat. Add steak and cook for 2 min. per side. Set steak aside to rest. Add tomatoes, juice of one lime, and seasoned broth to pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer. Cut steak into cubes and add back to chili along with beans. Cook for 5 more min. and serve with wedges from remaining lime.

NOTES: Serve with: Rice, cilantro, and/or tortilla strips or chips.
