Apple-Ginger Wild Rice Recipe
YIELD
3 cups
INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup wild rice or wild rice blend
- 2 cups apple cider or apple juice*
- 1/2 tsp. Ground Ginger
Add all Savory items to cart
NOTES
*To make this dish sugar-free, be sure and choose a sugar free apple cider or apple juice.
DIRECTIONS
Rinse rice in cold water. Combine rice and apple cider together in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce to a low simmer and cook, covered, for about 45 min. until liquid is absorbed and rice is toothy but tender. Remove from heat and allow to rest for 10 min. Remove cover and stir in ground ginger. Serve warm or at room temperature.
SERVING SUGGESTIONS
Toss in fresh chopped apples, dried cranberries and/or nuts. Makes the perfect side to cool down our Squash & Sausage Ghost Curry. It's also lovely with our Grilled Chai Pork Chops & Gravy or Cambodian Lemongrass Chicken Curry.
