DIRECTIONS
Cut ham into portions (discard the center bone if included) and cut through the center of each portion thickness-wise to create two thin slices. Heat a large nonstick pan over medium-high heat. Add half of ham to pan in a single layer and cook for 4 to 6 min., or until liquid has rendered out and evaporated. When ham has browned on one side, flip and cook for an additional 1 to 2 min., or until other side is browned. Move cooked slices to a plate and repeat with other half of ham slices. Remove all the ham from the pan and add in the butter. Stir constantly until the butter has completely melted. Add barbecue sauce and water. Reduce gravy for 4 min., or until it is slightly thickened. Add ham back in and cook for 3 to 4 more min., or until sauce is shiny and glazes the ham. Serve hot.
SERVING SUGGESTIONS
For traditional diner-style breakfast, serve ham on a toasted English muffin spread with cream cheese and top with sliced scallions. The perfect sandwich to enjoy with a cup of joe!
