Chocolate Chai Brandied Cherries Recipe

INGREDIENTS
- 1/3 cup water
- 3 Tbsp. Black Onyx Chocolate Sugar
- 2 Tbsp. granulated sugar
- 2 Tbsp. Chai Spices
- 1 muslin bag
- 3/4 cup brandy
- 10 oz. fresh or frozen cherries (washed, pitted and destemmed)
- 1 tsp. lemon or lime juice

NOTES
This recipe lends itself to exploration. Try Vanilla Bean Sugar in place of Black Onyx Chocolate Sugar or Mulling Spices in place of Chai Spices.
DIRECTIONS
In a small saucepan, bring water and sugar to a boil, stirring to dissolve sugar. Place Chai Spices in a muslin bag. Tie bag and add to sugar water. Stir in brandy and cherries. Return mixture to a boil then lower heat and simmer for 5 min. Remove from heat and stir in lemon or lime juice. Transfer cherries, liquid and muslin bag with spices to a Mason jar. Let cool uncovered. Seal jar and refrigerate for 48 hours. After 48 hours, remove and discard muslin bag with spices.
SERVING SUGGESTIONS
Enjoy spiced cherries and cherry syrup in your favorite drink or dessert. Store sealed in refrigerator and use within 6 weeks.
