A Savory customer submitted this recipe with this explanation: “I LOVE Cinnamon mocha coffee, but when I moved to a tiny town in Idaho running to Starbucks for morning coffee was out of the question. I adapted this recipe using cinnamon sticks instead of ground cinnamon which eliminated the gunk at the bottom of my cup which was always left no matter how well I strained it.”

DIRECTIONS

Bring water, sugar, cinnamon and salt to a boil. Turn heat down to a bubbling simmer; cook for 30 min. Remove from heat and let cool. Remove the cinnamon sticks and strain to remove any remaining debris (cinnamon is tree bark after all). Add vanilla and enjoy.



SERVING SUGGESTIONS

Stir into your coffee, or pour over ice cream, oatmeal, or apple pie.
