Fermented Chile Hummus Recipe

INGREDIENTS
- 4 Tbsp. Portuguese Fermented Chile Flakes
- 1 tsp. Minced Garlic
- 1 tsp. Kosher Salt
- Grated zest of 1/2 lemon
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (about 1 lemon)
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 (15 oz.) can garbanzo beans, drained
- 1/4 cup tahini
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 tsp. sesame oil
- Black or White Sesame Seeds, for garnish

NOTES
*For a sweeter version, use 1 whole bulb Black Garlic in place of Dehydrated Minced Garlic. If using Black Garlic, no need to soak it first; simply peel and mash all cloves and add to food processor with garbanzo beans.
DIRECTIONS
Mix chile flakes, minced garlic, salt, and lemon zest with lemon juice and water and set aside for 15 min. In a food processor, pulse garbanzo beans with tahini, olive oil, and sesame oil into a coarse paste. Add soaked chile mixture and process until smooth.
SERVING SUGGESTIONS
Serve drizzled with more olive oil and/or sesame oil and garnished with more chile flakes and/or sesame seeds.
