Recipe: South Fork Sausage & Peppers
Whether you want a quick weeknight meal or a special breakfast treat, this skillet meal is easy to whip up.
- 1 lb. ground turkey
- 2 Tbsp. South Fork Italian Sausage Spice
- 1 yellow onion, chopped
- 2 bell peppers (red, yellow, or green), chopped
- 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
Mix turkey with South Fork Italian Sausage Spice. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or up to overnight. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Pinch off pieces of seasoned turkey and add to skillet. Cook in batches until browned on all sides, about 5 min. Transfer cooked turkey sausage to a plate. Add onion and peppers to skillet and cook until tender, about 5 min. Add sausage back to skillet and cook until heated through, about 5 more min.
Serve over a bed of rice or quinoa. Pack into a toasted sandwich roll with provolone cheese. Serve with skillet potatoes and eggs for breakfast. Add a can of tomato sauce or diced tomatoes to turn it into a pasta sauce.
