When we say small batch BBQ sauce, we mean it! Taking inspiration from his Chasing BBQ road trip, Savory founder Mike Johnston brought back his favorite regional barbecue flavors to the Savory Spice Test Kitchen. After lots of testing and tasting, we turned the flavors of Mike’s journey into eight delicious BBQ sauces to share with our customers.
Water, soy sauce, black pepper, garlic powder, sugar, tamarind liquid, vinegar, tomato sauce, molasses, mustard (distilled vinegar, water, #1 grade mustard seed, salt, turmeric, paprika, spice, natural flavors and garlic powder), less than 2% of lemon juice, allspice, salt, caramel food color, granulated garlic, onion powder. Contains soy.
This thin sauce, based on allspice, vinegar, and Worcestershire-like flavors, was inspired by visits to legendary barbecue joints in Western Kentucky. “Chip & Dip,” the smoked edges of mutton and pork doused in dip, is a barbecue original. The dip cuts through the fattiness of mutton and pork perfectly. The Caribbean flare of allspice flavor pairs perfectly with chicken and pork. This is a great sauce for gamey meat like mutton, lamb, goat, or gizzards. Shake well before serving.
