Mayan salt has a clean appearance and flavor, but also an interesting tie to the ancient Mayan way of life. This sea salt was harvested off the coast Guatemala and the ancient Mayan trade routes have been the subject of many a scholar. It is estimated that 30 tons a day was transported via canoe and on human backs into the interior of Mesoamerica to supply the needs of the Mayan people.
Use Mayan sea salt as a finish on fish, eggs, pastas and more. Sprinkle on veggies and meats before grilling or roasting. Try in place of standard salt to improve on the flavor of many dishes.

For 5-6 T of mix: Blend 4 T Mayan sea salt with 1 T mild chili powder, 1 t orange peel, and 1/2 t makrut lime powder
