Tempeh BLT Sandwich

Layer seasoned plant-based bacon, juicy tomato slices, and crunchy lettuce on toasted bread with a swipe of vegan mayo. It’s the kind of simple, satisfying sandwich that works any time of day. Easy to throw together. Hard to stop thinking about.

Ingredients
12 slices Tempeh bacon 4 slices of bread of your choice
Lake Barkley Fried Chicken Seasoning
2 Tbsp. Lake Barkley Fried Chicken Seasoning
4 Tbsp. Vegan mayonnaise, for serving
4 Romaine lettuce leaves, for serving
1 tomato, sliced for serving
Directions
Step 1
Season tempeh slices with Lake Barkley Chicken Seasoning. Then spray cooking oil on each piece of tempeh.
Step 2
Line air fryer tray with foil and heat to 400°F.
Step 3
Place tempeh in air fryer and cook for 6-8 minutes, or until your preferred crispiness.
Step 4
Meanwhile, toast bread slices.
Step 5
Assemble BLT by spreading Vegan mayonnaise on each slice of toasted bread and layering tempeh, lettuce, and tomato.
Step 6
Slice in half and serve.
Recipe Notes
If you do not have an air fryer, tempeh can be seasoned and then cooked in a non-stick frying pan, according to package directions.
