Our Pure Almond Extract uses the maximum amount of premium bitter almond oil (which has already been heated to destroy toxicity) for the best pure almond flavor that's stronger than most. Use almond extract for baking to add almond flavor to cookies, cakes and pastries. It's also a great almond extract for coffee. Almond extract can also be used in savory recipes such as curries, meat stews, and other Middle Eastern cuisine.

More Information

There are two types of almonds, sweet and bitter. The sweet almonds have a delicate, slightly sweet flavor and the bitter has a much stronger flavor and contain small traces of lethal prussic acid when raw. Bitter almonds must be heated to destroy the acid’s toxicity.
