This salt-free curry is earthy and sweet-spiced with bitter and peppery notes.

How to Use

Season beef, chicken, fish, and poultry. Add to rice, sauces, vegetables, and soups. For paste, mix equal parts spice, water, and oil.

About This Blend

Originating in India and Pakistan, many cultures now have a version of yellow curry. Recipes are usually handed down through families, and the ingredients vary. This mild version doesn't have any chiles.

More Information

The word curry is derived from the word kaari meaning sauce or gravy. In India, pronunciation and meaning can vary between castes. To vegetarians it means vegetables cooked with spice and coconut. To meat-eaters it is pronounced with an emphasis on the end, and simply meaning meat.

To ensure the best flavors are reached we recommend that customers make a curry paste out of our powders by using equal parts spice, water, and a neutral flavored oil (like canola or vegetable). The reason behind this is some volatile oils and flavors are fat soluble and some are water soluble. If you leave curry pastes in the refrigerator for a few days more and more of the flavors will mature.

Use about a ½ tsp. per pound of beef, chicken, fish or poultry. Curry can be used in many dishes: rice, sauces, chicken, seafood salads, vegetables or soups.

I put this in potato

I put this in potato salad and tuna salad
and WOW what a great addition! When I take it to a pot luck or picnic everyone asks what IT is…surprised when I tell them curry! Many have the idea that curry is too spicy and overpowering, not so with this at all!

This spice is not full

This spice is not full of heat but the taste is amazing. We mix about two tablespoons with a can of coconut milk and simmer low. It tastes great with chick peas and spinach over rice.

Perfectly Pleased!

We love most anything curried. However, all of my previously favorite brands have added so much heat to their blends that all of the lovely layers of other flavors are lost. I am so excited to have found Savory Spice’s Mild Yellow Curry Powder! I can control the amount of heat I add, (or don’t add) which varies depending upon the protein and/or veggies I am preparing. This is my 2nd order of this product and it will not be my last!

Great Packaging and love the spices

Took a little longer then I liked getting my spices but I will admit they came well packaged and am sure they will be good. Only thing I wish is that you all would offer Garlic Flakes instead of ground styles it has a more bold flavor to it. Other then that I'm pleased with what we got and how each one was packaged.
Give us options to get our orders quicker or make it easier to pick up at our local stores on our online orders.

I love this curry powder

I am thrilled that your brand is a blend of wonderful flavors w/o burning my mouth and stomach. flavor without the heat

Superbly blended. So nice to enjoy a spice blend that doesn't rely on the heat of chili peppers to be flavorful.
Love curry, but get tired of scorching my palate, so it is nice to find a blend that doesn't think "spicy" only means heat.

Wonderful product

I have never gotten anything at Savory Spice that I didn't like. Everything is top quality and I don't shop anywhere else for the herbs and spices that are a little more exotic and hard to find. If Savory Spice doesn't have it, no one does.
