Whiskey Barrel Smoked Sugar Details

Baking

We smoke this sugar in house at our warehouse in Denver, Colorado using wooden staves from whiskey barrels. Use it to add smoked flavor to sweet and savory dishes. Try as a finishing sugar on baked goods. Add to custards and puddings. Rim cocktails. Use in place of brown sugar in BBQ sauces and glazes.

Spice Tips!

Cupcakes:Sprinkle sugar onto these Maple Cupcakes with Smoked Sugar Frosting or your favorite cupcake recipe.

Hot Toddies: Stir 1 Tbsp. sugar into a cup of hot black tea before adding a splash of rum, honey, lemon juice, and a lemon wedge.

Turkey Leg: Dissolve 1/2 cup sugar in 1/2 cup water over medium heat. Add minced garlic and a pinch of salt and reduce to a thin glaze consistency. Brush mixture on turkey legs several times as they roast.

Delicata Squash: Brush sliced squash with oil and sprinkle with salt and sugar. Roast at 400 degrees for 20 to 30 min., or until golden brown and tender.
