Ingredients
2 cups apple cider or apple juice
Vanilla Bean Sugar
1/4 cup Vanilla Bean Sugar
Natural Cherry Extract
1/4 tsp. Natural Cherry Extract
1/4 cup moonshine*
10 to 12 frozen dark sweet cherries
Directions
Whisk juice and sugar together in a small saucepan. Bring mixture to a boil and let it simmer for about 5 min. Remove from heat, stir in extract and allow mixture to cool. Strain into a 2-cup sealable jar and add moonshine and cherries. Refrigerate for at least 24 hours before enjoying; it gets even better as it ages.
Recipe Notes
*Moonshine is widely available in liquor stores, but vodka will work as a substitute. For a Chocolate Cherry Moonshine, substitute Vanilla Bean Sugar with our Black Onyx Chocolate Sugar. Almond extract can be used in place of cherry extract, and fresh cherries can be used in place of frozen.
