Whatcha makin', Joe?
A tropical twist on an American classic, this family-friendly dish comes together in just 10 minutes with only 2 extra ingredients. These Sloppy Joe sandwiches have some of the same flavors as our popular Sweet Jerk Barbecue Sauce.
Sweet and savory with warm spices, tropical fruit, and a touch of scotch bonnet heat.
*For a vegetarian/vegan version, use ground seitan or impossible meat.
DIRECTIONS:
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground turkey and cook until browned. Add water and Sweet Jerk Sloppy Joe Mix to skillet and stir to combine. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer (uncovered) for 4 to 5 min., or until sauce is slightly thickened. Scoop meat onto buns and serve immediately.
NOTES:
Garnish with: Chives, sliced jalapeño, and diced red onion.
Serve with: Plantain chips and grilled pineapple.
