Blackberry Sauce

There are so many uses for this rich, fruity syrup that you'll probably want to make a double batch.

Step 1
Rinse blackberries and let them air dry on paper towels until mostly dry.
Step 2
In a small bowl, gently fold Black Onyx Chocolate Sugar into blackberries. Let sit 30 min. to 1 hour to macerate.
Step 3
Scrape berries, sugar, and any liquids that have accumulated into a small saucepan. Heat mixture over medium heat, stirring frequently, until berries begin to change color and soften.
Step 4
With a wooden spoon, crush the berries against the side of the pan. Simmer mixture for 10 to 15 min. until it thickened slightly.
Step 5
Serve, or let cool and refrigerate.
