Maple Crunch Cookies

These shortbread-like cookies are full of sweet maple flavor, complemented by the nutty crunch of pecans.

Ingredients
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened 3/4 cup granulated sugar
Natural Maple Extract
1 1/2 tsp. Natural Maple Extract
Mayan Sea Salt
1/4 tsp. Mayan Sea Salt
2 cups all-purpose flour
40 pecan halves
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a large bowl, beat together butter, sugar, maple extract, and salt until light and fluffy, about 2 to 3 min. Add flour and mix until just combined. Roll 1 Tbsp. of dough at a time into balls and place on prepared baking sheet. Gently press a pecan half into the center of each ball to flatten slightly. Bake for 12 to 15 min., or until cookies just begin to brown around the edges.
