Maple Crunch Cookies

These shortbread-like cookies are full of sweet maple flavor, complemented by the nutty crunch of pecans.

Step 1
Preheat oven to 375 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a large bowl, beat together butter, sugar, maple extract, and salt until light and fluffy, about 2 to 3 min.
Step 2
Add flour and mix until just combined.
Step 3
Roll 1 Tbsp. of dough at a time into balls and place on prepared baking sheet. Gently press a pecan half into the center of each ball to flatten slightly.
Step 4
Bake for 12 to 15 min., or until cookies just begin to brown around the edges.
