1/2 cup water


2 Tbsp. fresh minced ginger

4 Tbsp. olive oil

For the sauce:


2 Tbsp. dark rum

2 Tbsp. brown sugar

1 cup pineapple juice

Directions

In a small bowl, thoroughly mix together all paste ingredients. Transfer paste to a medium saucepan and toast over medium-high heat for 2 to 3 min., stirring constantly. Stir in sauce ingredients, bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and cook for 6 to 8 min. to thicken sauce.
