Smoky Ketchup
Recipe by A. Lynn Buschhoff
Use in place of regular ketchup anywhere you want a smoky, spicy kick.
Serves
1/2 cup
Cooking Time
10 minutes
Ingredients
Tomato Powder
2 Tbsp. Tomato Powder
1/2 cup water
Red Rocks Hickory Smoke Seasoning
2 tsp. Red Rocks Hickory Smoke Seasoning
Liquid Tamarind Paste Concentrate
1 tsp. Liquid Tamarind Paste Concentrate
2 tsp. brown sugar
Directions
Mix Tomato Powder and water and let stand for a few minutes. Adjust thickness by adding more water or more powder. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator.
Recipe Notes
For a sugar-free ketchup, leave out the brown sugar; the ketchup will be much more tart if you do. You can also substitute honey for the sugar.
