Easy Breakfast Ideas

Six different easy breakfast options

Making breakfast in bed is a cute idea. But it doesn't have to be complicated. Keep it simple with these ideas for making breakfast in bed everything it should be: delicious and easy.

They say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But what about when you want something delicious (or houseguest worthy) but don't want to destroy your kitchen (or your sanity)? Don't worry, we have you covered with these easy breakfasts.

What To Put On Avocado Toast

Three versions of avocado toast

Bread + Avocado + Aleppo Chiles OR Green Goddess Dressing OR Brooklyn Everything Bagel

The next time someone talks about how avocado toast for breakfast is a trendy thing that only millennials love, just walk away from that person. Avocado toast is delicious and should be enjoyed by all generations.

Avocado Toast Toppings

Make some avo toast from crusty sourdough bread and then comes the real fun...figuring out how to top it.

  • Spicy & Satisfying - Crushed Aleppo Chiles add a warm, earthy chile flavor but they are still mild enough for first thing in the morning. For a heartier version, try Smoked Salmon and Grilled Halloumi Avocado Toast.
  • Herby & Citrusy - Green Goddess Dip & Dressing is a Spice ‘n Easy packaged version of an Herb Avocado Toast. Skip the fresh herbs and make the Green Goddess Dressing. Bonus: you'll have leftovers for an afternoon veggie dip!
  • Nutty and Crunchy - Avocado toast with everything bagel seasoning is almost too obvious to mention. But we're going to do it anyway! Brooklyn Everything Bagel Blend is how to make avocado toast easy. Feel free to try bacon avocado toast or make avocado and tomato toast...actually this would make an amazing BLT breakfast sandwich (we suggest peppery arugula in place of iceburg lettuce).

Oh, and don’t forget the squeeze of lime juice and a fried egg (if you're feeling fancy).

Grapefruit Brûlée

Baked Grapefruit in three steps

Grapefruit + Georgia Peach Spice + Yogurt + Mint

Grapefruit breakfast ideas run the gamut. This tart and tangy citrus is a great canvas for a sweet topping. Even if you agree, you might wonder, "What is bruleed grapefruit?" Traditionally, it involves a kitchen blowtorch to caramelize the sugar on the top of the grapefruit. But maybe you don't have a blowtorch (no judgement, but if you're looking for an excuse to get one, here it is). You can get a similar effect and enjoy grapefruit for breakfast with this easy oven baked spiced grapefruit.

Baked Grapefruit Recipe

Set your oven to 200 degrees, slice your grapefruit in have (around the equator so you can see the spoonable segments), and pop both halves (cut-side up) on a baking sheet. Sprinkle some Georgia Peach Spice on top. Bake your grapefruit for 20 min. and they’ll come out sweet and caramelized. Top with yogurt and a sprig of mint for freshness and a pop of color.

Easy Breakfast Tacos

Three steps to make breakfast tacos

Scrambled Eggs + Spiced Skillet Potatoes + Toppings

Nothing brings people together like tacos (especially on a Tuesday) but breakfast tacos might be the most underappreciated variety. This killer breakfast is filled with scrambled eggs and roasted potatoes. Take them to the next level by toasting your corn or flour tortillas over your stove flame or in a really hot pan.

Breakfast Taco Ingredients

We'll be honest, the best breakfast taco recipe is kind of a non-recipe. Season small-diced potatoes before roasting or pan-frying, then make your scrambled eggs right before you assemble your tacos—no one wants rubbery, cold eggs. Add a spoonful of Fire Roasted Salsa or some pico de gallo, some chopped chives or cilantro, cheese, and a spoonful of sour cream to each taco. Oh, and maybe some jalapenos. The more toppings you have, the better the tacos will be. Plus, everyone can top their own!

Quick and Easy Cinnamon Rolls

Three steps to make easy cinnamon rolls

Refrigerated Biscuits + Butter + Cinnamon Sugar

Let’s all be honest with ourselves: who has time to make cinnamon rolls from scratch? At least on a regular basis. We fully approve Maple Kissed Cinnamon Rolls with Bourbon Glaze for special occasions! Here’s the sitch: you can get those little refrigerated biscuits (you know the ones, they’re in the tube) and make a faux cinnamon roll.

Easy Biscuit Cinnamon Rolls

Get the “original flavor” biscuits in a can, flatten them into ovals, smear them with softened butter, give a hearty sprinkle of Cinnamon Sugar (add in a little extra Saigon Cinnamon if you want it extra bold), roll them up from the shorter end, and slice each one into four baby rolls! Bake for 12 to 15 min in a 400 degree oven. While they cook, make a simple icing with powdered sugar and a little milk (add a splash of vanilla) or orange juice. If you want to add some extra oomph, add chopped nuts to the filling.

And if you just want the flavor of a Frosted Cinnamon Bun, there's a popcorn sprinkle for that!

Easy “Croissants"

Three steps for super easy croissants

Puff Pastry + Spiced Vanilla Bean Sugar

Traditional French Croissants are traditionally made from laminated dough, which is a process that carefully folds in butter and creates those amazingly light layers. There are also "easier" recipes that are more of a "rough puff" method, where the butter is added to the dough instead of being folded in. If you're undertaking one of those methods, hats off. If you don't want to mess with yeast and pastry techniques, we've got you covered.

Easy Croissant Recipe

This easiest ever recipe for croissants comes from freezer-aisle puff pastry. Thaw it according to package directions, cut each of the sheets into thirds, then into triangles. Brush the pastry dough lightly with an egg wash (which is a fancy term for a well-beaten egg and a tiny splash of water) and sprinkle with Vanilla Bean Sugar (or Brooklyn Everything Bagel for something a little more savory). Roll the triangles starting at the wide end and ending at the point of the triangle, place on a baking sheet, and brush them again with the egg wash. Bake in an oven preheated to 400 degrees for 15 minutes or until golden brown.

Berry Granola Parfaits

Fresh Berries + Vanilla Bean Sugar + Granola + Yogurt

The key to achieving parfait perfection? Layers (and a clear little cup or bowl so you can see those lovely layers). First, you’re going to want to macerate some berries by tossing them in just enough Vanilla Bean Sugar to lightly coat them. This is going to soften, sweeten, and draw out some delicious JUICE. Mix in a splash of lemon or lime juice and, if you want, bulk it up with some chia seeds or instant oats. Give it 30 min. or so and the berries should be ready to be layered with your favorite yogurt and granola. Congratulations, you’re basically a breakfast artist.
