No tahini in the house? No problem! This recipe creatively uses sesame seeds to get that classic tahini flavor into a truly simple and very savory hummus.

Ingredients
Directions
Step 1
Toast White Sesame Seeds and Cumin Seeds together in a small skillet over medium heat for 1 to 3 min. or until fragrant.
Step 2
Immediately transfer to a food processer or blender. Blend to desired consistency; pulse just a few times for a coarse grind, or for 30 seconds or so for a finer texture.
Step 3
Add garbanzo beans, garlic, lemon juice and water and blend until smooth.
Step 4
With blender running, slowly drizzle in oil until hummus reaches desired consistency.
Step 5
Sprinkle with Sumac and a drizzle of olive oil just before serving. Store in the refrigerator and use with a week or so.
Recipe Notes
*You can use toasted sesame seeds and ground cumin instead, but we like the flavor impact of toasting and grinding the seeds fresh.
