Recipe Notes

*To use vanilla beans: split beans in half lengthwise and scrape seeds out from pod with the back of a knife. Use empty pods to make homemade vanilla extract or flavor homemade vanilla sugar.

Directions

Add all ingredients to a slow cooker and stir to coat apples. Cook on high for 5 to 6 hours, stirring occasionally. When apples are very soft, use a potato masher to break them down or pour apples and juice into a blender and puree for a very smooth spread. Enjoy warm or cold. Store in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
