HOW MUCH IS SHIPPING?
We price our shipping to cover the cost charged by USPS (or UPS if you select that option) without additional fees. Your shipping cost is based on the weight of the products in your order and the distance of your delivery address from Denver, Colorado. The shipping cost will be provided to you before you complete your order. We also offer free shipping for all orders over $45 although the following items are excluded and do not count toward the $45 threshold: spice racks, empty spice and extract bottles, Himalayan salt bricks, La Baleine salts, extracts in 16 fl oz glass bottles, and kosher salt boxes. Excluded items can still be added to orders over $45.00, but a shipping charge will be applied to those items.
HOW WILL I KNOW WHEN MY PACKAGE HAS SHIPPED?
As soon as USPS/UPS picks up your package and enters it into their system, they will send you an email with your tracking number. With this number, you can follow the progress of your package. If you don’t receive this email you can email firstname.lastname@example.org to request a tracking number.
HOW DO YOU PACKAGE YOUR SPICES?
We offer spices in glass jars and resealable plastic/craft paper bags. Jars are available in ½ cup (4 fl oz) & 1 ½ cup (12 fl oz) sizes. Bags are available in 1 cup, 2 cup and 3 cup sizes. Not all products are offered in every size.
CAN I PICK UP AN ORDER INSTEAD OF SHIPPING IT?
We do not offer in store pickup through our website. If you would like to place an order to be picked up at a specific store, you can contact that store directly via phone or email. Contact information for all Savory Spice stores can be found on our locations page.
IS MY ORDER SECURE?
Yes. All purchases are secured by Heartland Payment Systems. At no time is your credit card number stored on our system or accessible by staff. We are audited quarterly to ensure security compliance and follow all practices defined by our bank and credit card processor. In compliance with bank requirements, the last 5 digits of your credit card number are stored to help you identify your payment method, but this information insufficient for making a purchase.
WHAT IS YOUR RETURN POLICY?
- Exchange or return of defective/damaged merchandise within 30 days of original purchase. Shipping for returns of defective/damaged merchandise will be paid for by Savory Spice. Please call 1-888-677-3322 or email email@example.com to get a pre-paid shipping label sent to you.
- Exchange or return of non-food merchandise, with receipt and in good condition, within 30 days of original purchase. Shipping for exchanges or returns of non-food merchandise, with receipt and in good condition, will be paid by customer.
- Food products are not exchangeable, but if there is an issue with a food product that you received from us, please contact us at 1-888-677-3322 or firstname.lastname@example.org and we will do our best to resolve the problem.
WILL YOU ADD MY EMAIL ADDRESS TO YOUR MAILING LIST AUTOMATICALLY JUST BECAUSE I ORDER SOMETHING FROM YOU?
No. If you choose to checkout as a guest and do not opt to join our Loyalty Club, you will not be added to our email list. You will only receive emails about your order such as a receipt, tracking information, and an email asking for a review on the products you purchased.
IF I SIGN UP FOR YOUR LOYALTY CLUB IN A STORE OR ONLINE, HOW OFTEN WILL YOU SEND ME EMAILS?
We generally email 3-4 times a week. However, you do have the ability to manage your preferences by clicking the manage preferences option in My Account or in the footer of every email. This allows you to choose what type of emails you would like to receive or to unsubscribe from all emails.
DO LOYALTY CLUB REWARDS EXPIRE?
Yes, Loyalty Club rewards expire 60 days after they are issued. To view your reward history and including current reward expiration dates, log in to your account and select "Loyalty Club & Rewards" under the My Account menu. Read the full Loyalty Club terms and conditions.
DO I GET LOYALTY CLUB REWARDS ON EVERY ITEM?
Loyalty Club rewards are not earned on purchases of gift cards, Spice Club, discounted event gifting orders, or shipping charges. Read the full Loyalty Club terms and conditions.
WHAT IS THE LOYALTY CLUB BIRTHDAY GIFT?
Members of the Loyalty Club who have entered their birthday into their account will receive an email on the first day of their birthday month. They will be granted a reward of a free 1oz bag of select seasonings redeemable during their birthday month. Shipping rates may apply to online orders.
WHAT IS YOUR STORE ADDRESS?
WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO STORE MY SPICES?
Airtight glass jars are the ideal storage containers for spices. It is best to store spices away from heat and light, making a drawer or cabinet your best options. We do recommend storing certain products, like Tomato Powder, in the refrigerator to extend the shelf life.
HOW LONG DO SPICES LAST?
Spice don’t “go bad” in the same sense as other foods. They do, however, lose their flavor over time. Whole spices can maintain their full flavor for several years. We recommend replacing ground spices every year. The best test for spice freshness is simply smelling them. If they smell weak or have no aroma, they probably won’t have much flavor and should be replaced.
DO YOUR SEASONINGS CONTAIN MSG?
No, none of our seasonings contain MSG.
ARE YOUR SPICES GLUTEN-FREE?
Yes, all of our spices and seasonings are gluten-free and we do not use any forms of gluten in our production facility.
Be advised that we offer two non-spice products that do contain gluten: our Veal Demi Glace and our Wasabi Garnishing Sauce. Both of these products come to our warehouse pre-packaged and sealed and go out the same way. Store locations also carry a selection of artisan offerings that arrive pre-packaged and may contain gluten.
We also do not label our barbecue sauces as gluten-free because they use two ingredients that many people claim contain gluten: vinegar and soy sauce. According to our manufacturer, there are not enough gluten proteins in these ingredients to cause an effect for someone with Celiac disease. In cases like this, the FDA allows products to be labeled as gluten-free, however in the spirit of transparency we have opted not to label these products as gluten-free.
HOW DO I SUBSTITUTE A DRIED HERB FOR A FRESH HERB?
Because of their intense concentrated flavor, dried herbs can be substituted for fresh herbs at a ratio of 1 to 3. For example, if a recipe calls for 3 tsp. of fresh oregano, you can use 1 tsp. of dried oregano. In order to release the full flavor of dried herbs, they need to be heated and rehydrated. That’s why they’re great for recipes like soups and stews that sometimes require extended cooking times.

WHAT DOES “SPICES” MEAN IN AN INGREDIENT LIST?
Per FDA requirements, “spices” refers only to a set list of spices that are not known allergens (see below). This term is NOT used to hide fillers. Many of our seasonings contain a complex blend of spices. Often, many individual spices are used in a very small volume in a seasoning. We use “spices” because, though a seasoning may contain allspice, for example, such a small amount is used that it is not a primary flavor component in the blend.
